Following the conversion and extension of the two school buildings of the Rudolf Steiner School in Winterthur, we built an open pavilion for the school children in the courtyard of the school premises. The pavilion is used for lingering and playing during school breaks and as a stage for various school events.
The pavilion consists of a steel structure with a folded wooden roof and is mounted on a round concrete platform. The V-shaped arrangement of the supports makes the structure appear light, as it only touches the ground at six points.
