Zentrumsentwicklung Unterterzen
Zentrumsentwicklung Unterterzen, 2024 – 2025

The area around the Unterterzen–Flumserberg cable car base station is currently used mainly as a car park. However, its central location offers great potential for development. The municipality of Quarten and the private landowners are therefore seeking to reposition it as a key development zone.

A strategic concept was developed in a multi-stage workshop process involving representatives of the municipality, the owners and external experts in urban design and spatial planning. This concept forms the basis for the future development of the area.

The aim is to upgrade the Unterterzen railway station mobility hub into an attractive destination, create high-quality residential and commercial space with appropriate density, and define a location for a new school building. At the same time, high-quality outdoor spaces are to be created and synergies in parking for tourism and everyday traffic are to be exploited. Currently, there is still a restriction on the publication of the content.
